In the port of Poti, sugar is transshipped from liner 20-foot containers into covered wagons (on average, according to the scheme 3 x 20-foot container in 1 covered wagon 64-68 tons). Further, sugar is transported by rail from Poti to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan via ferry crossings Alyat (Azerbaijan) – Kuryk (Kazakhstan) or Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan) Transportation of sugar from Brazil, Poland, Ukraine to the countries of Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan) through the port of Poti Georgia.
